Indian benchmark equity indices BSE Sensex and Nifty50 opened higher on Tuesday, amid signs of stability emerging in other Asian markets.
Apart from global market moves, investors are also awaiting the Reserve Bank of India's Monetary Policy Committee meeting's decision scheduled for tomorrow, along with fourth quarter numbers from India Inc and macroeconomic data points later in the week.
At 9:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 74162.66 up by 1024.76 points or by 1.4 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22518.9 up by 357.3 points or by 1.61 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 74421.65 and intraday low of 73993.97 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22577.55 and intraday low of 22446.75
