Sensex falls 115 pts; M&M slides 3%

The BSE Sensex and the NSE Nifty, today, started the last trading session of the financial year 2024-25 (FY25) on a flat note.

M&M, Infosys, Sun Pharma, Power Grid, IndusInd Bank, Bharti Airtel, L&T, and HCL Tech were the top Sensex losers today, down up to 2.65 per cent.

On the upside, Kotak Bank, Tata Motors, Nestle India, Asian Paints, Tata Steel, HUL, SBI, and Reliance Industries were the top Sensex gainers, rising up to 1.3 per cent.

At 9:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 77491.05 down by -115.38 points or by -0.15 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23604.2 up by 12.25 points or by 0.05 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 77750.45 and intraday low of 77461.77 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23629.7 and intraday low of 23574.65

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2268.70,+1.43%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2269.10,+1.29%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2148.15,+0.80%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 673.55,+0.74%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 412.35,+0.72%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2649.15,-3.08%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1581.95,-1.35%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 291.70,-1.09%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1712.55,-1.08%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3619.55,-0.88%), among others.

Oil&Gas index was at 25355.81 up by 301.71 points or by 1.2%. Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 247.30,+2.11%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 280.45,+1.63%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 365.40,+1.61%), Oil India Ltd. (Rs. 392.10,+1.54%), Adani Total Gas Ltd. (Rs. 620.35,+1.37%),.

_IT index was at 36488.86 down by -284.5 points or by -0.77%. LTIMindtree Ltd. (Rs. 4571.00,-1.88%), Ramco Systems Ltd. (Rs. 345.00,-1.57%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 267.80,-1.56%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1581.95,-1.35%), Intellect Design Arena Ltd. (Rs. 716.70,-1.17%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3063 , shares advanced were 2191 while 761 shares declined and 111 were unchanged.
