Mid-Session: Sensex surges 500 points; Titan Company, TCS top gainers

Indian benchmark equity indices BSE Sensex and Nifty50 are higher on Thursday supported by buying in index heavyweights including Titan Company Ltd. Bharti Airtel Ltd. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. HCL Technologies Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.among others.

At 12:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 75956.42 up by 507.37 points or by 0.67 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23080.5 up by 172.9 points or by 0.75 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 76013.82 and intraday low of 75684.58 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23082.95 and intraday low of 22973.95

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3191.90,+3.79%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1682.60,+2.81%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3561.65,+1.84%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1571.75,+1.83%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2832.65,+1.67%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 8639.70,-1.12%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 10849.70,-0.78%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1167.75,-0.44%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 689.30,-0.44%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3305.00,-0.42%), among others.

TECk index was at 17264.14 up by 289.02 points or by 1.7%. Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 102.97,+2.76%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1681.45,+2.74%), Tata Communications Ltd. (Rs. 1603.00,+2.67%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3563.90,+1.91%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1571.10,+1.79%),.

Power index was at 6461.67 down by -1.34 points or by -0.02%. JSW Energy Ltd. (Rs. 555.00,-2.67%), CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 654.55,-1.20%), Siemens Ltd. (Rs. 5160.00,-1.20%), ABB India Ltd. (Rs. 5430.10,-0.81%), Adani Power Ltd. (Rs. 519.40,-0.34%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4159 , shares advanced were 2562 while 1408 shares declined and 189 were unchanged.
