Crude oil futures declined on Wednesday, slipping by Rs 5 to Rs 5,784 per barrel in futures trading as traders reduced their positions in response to weak global demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, April delivery crude oil contracts were down by Rs 5, or 0.09 per cent, to Rs 5,784 per barrel across 2,365 lots.
According to analysts, the price drop was driven by participants liquidating their holdings amid bearish global market trends.
