Zinc prices edged lower on Tuesday, slipping 0.09% to Rs 269.80 per kilogram in the futures market as traders scaled back their positions amid weak demand in the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), zinc futures for March delivery declined by 25 paise to Rs 269.80 per kg, with a total of 2,342 lots traded.
Market analysts attributed the drop in zinc prices to reduced buying interest from consuming industries, prompting traders to trim their positions in response to sluggish demand.
